At La Palmyre

beaches. The town has a market and shops which cover everyone's needs
supermarkets fresh foods and the best fresh fish and oysters.
In the harbour you can hire yachts, sailing dinghies and motor boats.
Take a stroll along the promenades and enjoy the sights.
For the more adventurous go to the surfing beaches a few miles north
of the town.
Make use of the cycles in the forests surrounding the town. You can
cycle for miles on purpose built tracks and enjoy the site.
You can hire horses for hacks through the forests or there are quad
bikes for hire.
Just out side the site there are go-karts for hire this is huge fun
for the teenage kids or the kids that still think they are teenagers.
You can also visit the Hippodrome de la Royan this is a horse racing
ground with around 15 meetings a year
The nearby Chateau De La Gataudiere

. it is one of the oldest stately manors in the area if not all of
France it boasts many infamous guests including a very young Queen
Victoria. You can visit the museum and the grounds and have guided tour
of the Chateau. The Chateau grounds cater for the more energetic with
paint balling and climbing in the adventure park. Good fun at many
levels from the young to the chimpanzee in you.
In the nearby town of Royan there are boat trips to nearby coastal
resorts you can visit vine or Cognac yards. There is a champion golf
course for those who wish to participate

the historic town of La Rochelle There is the famous Fort Boyard
which you can visit the fort by boat.

The Zoo at La Palmyre is France's largest conservational zoo. The web
